The purpose of this study is to report performance of the education program for the social service corps and to identify demands for improving the quality of the program. Focus-group interviews(FGI) were conducted for four key stakeholders of the program: social service corps(trainee), boss at social service institutions where each trainee belongs to, full-time faculty(trainer), administrative staff in charge of managing the program. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the FGI data that we collected from such stakeholders. Three themes emerged regarding performance of the education program: understanding their duties and customers’ needs, practical skills acquisition, and pursuing their careers in the fields. We also found three aspects of the demands for its improvement: individuals(trainee), curriculum and teaching methods, and administrative systems. Findings suggest the evidence that can contribute to improving the quality of the current education program for social service corps by examining its performance and limitations using multifaceted viewpoints.
