중고령 장애인의 은퇴 결정 요인 연구 = A Study on the Determinants of Retirement of the Elderly with Disabilities

Most elderly with disabilities are not prepared for their later years and only 13.3% of themare prepared with their or the public pension. Thus, households with disabled retireeswithout sources of their income after retirement have greater possibility that their economiccondition is worsening, which indicates serious poverty issue in households with disabilitiesin middle-aged and advanced-aged retirees. This study aims to analyze the characteristics ofretirement and determinants of retirement of the elderly with disabilities. This studyanalyzes Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled in 2008 and focuses on retirement ofelderly with disabilities who had entered the labor market.
There are many determinants with statistically significant effects to their decisions such asgender, age, matial status, health capital, Various sources of income, financial assets, theemployment status and if they are employed, some job characteristics affect elderly withdisabilities if they decide to retire or not. It is an important policy direction to overcome thechallenge of aging society to prevent such practicies going against the trend of an agingsociety and provide the older with job opportunity, social safety net to guarantee their stablelater years and to promote public pension enhancing their satisfaction after retirement.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중고령 장애인의 은퇴결정의 요인을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 분석자료는 1차년도 장애인고용패널조사이며, 당시 1948년 이후의 출생자인 중고령 장애인 중 노동시장 진입 경험이 있는 자를 대상으로 하였다. 연구결과 연령이 낮고 남성이며 건강상태가 좋고, 가구주이며 배우자가 있는 장애인 근로자는 그렇지 않은 근로자에 비해 은퇴하지 않고 노동시장에서 계속 근로할 확률이 높게 나타났다. 또한 중증장애인이 경증장애인에 비해 은퇴를 앞당겨 할 가능성이 높으며, 장애발생 연령이 늦어질수록은퇴할 확률도 높아졌다. 그리고 노동시장 지위가 불안정할수록 은퇴를 미루는 것으로 나타났는데 상용직근로자보다는 임시일용직근로자와 비임금근로자가 은퇴확률이 낮고, 1차산업 관련 종사자도 은퇴시기를 늦추는 것으로 나타났다.
