    Jeong, Mong-joo(鄭夢周)’s two handwritten letters were copied several times. Taking a closer look shows that those copies were made not for reading but as a monument. It was Yoon, Doo-soo(尹斗壽) who made the copy of Jeong, Mong-joo’s two letters as a monument first. Every time he look at them, he recalled Jeong, Mong-joo’s loyalty to the country. So to speak, to him Jeong’s calligraphy was a representation of loyalty. From 15th century, Jeong, Mong-joo was revered as the father of East Country(Korea) Neo-Confucianism(東方理學之祖). Then in 17th century after the split of political party, Nam-in(南人) party monopolized and revered Jeong, Mong-joo. Gwon, Sang-il(權相一), one of Nam-in party scholar reprinted and enshrined Jeong, Mong-joo’s calligraphy at Do-nam Seowon(道南書院). To Gwon, Sang-il, Jeong, Mong-joo was a representation of the father of East Country Neo-Confucianism.
