      The purpose of this study was to present some ways to encourage career guidance activities at high schools by examining the state and problems.
      The core of the problems is associated with the current high school education which is exclusively geared toward college entrance examination. This prohibit appropriate career guidance and vocational training according to individual student's personality and aptitude. The following are some suggestions for remedying such a situation.
      (1) To reorient parents perception of career.
      (2) To get rid of the current educational practice oriented toward college entrance examination.
      (3) To introduce carefully arranged career guidance procedures.
      (4) To set up and maintain close relationships and exchange informations between schools and industries.
