Field-oriented learning is good strategy for environmental education, because it linked the knowledge of the learner and the real world problem. In this study, the performance level of field-oriented learning by secondary science teachers was surveyed to investigate the status of environmental education in schools. Less than 40% of 147 teachers questioned have conducted field-oriented education more than once or twice a year. Many teachers have conducted the field-oriented learning for one or two hours(62.7%) and for cognitive purpose(58.3%). They have prepared field-oriented learning through real work(42.7%) or independently(33.1%). These results suggest that the program related this area should considered in pre-service and in-service training.
