한국 발신의 일본 '전후문학' 연구 -다층성(多層性)과 단순성을 중심으로-

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연수는 전향과 전쟁을 겪고 지나온 많은 일본인들의 패전후에 있어서의 폭발적인 움직임에 주목하고, 거기서부터 탄생한 잡지 [근대문학] 동인들을 중심으로 한 일본 '전후문학'의 분석과 해명에 그 목표가 있다.
분석 결과, 그러한 전후문학자들의 존재에 힘입어 1960년대 이후의 문학의 일익을 담당해 오고 있는 오에 겐자부로의 노벨상 수상에 이르기까지 일본의 '전후문학'에는 특필할 만한 사항들이 많이 있다.
그러나 이러한 것들이 단순히 패전에 의한 가치관의 붕괴, 천황제와 군대의 해체, 사회체제의 변화 등의 외적인 요인에 의해 초래되었다는 것은 피상적인 견해에 불과하다. 그것들은 전전, 전중부터 조용히 조금씩 준비되고 있었던 것이다.
각국의 문학은 각각 자신들의 전통을 갖고 오랜 시간에 걸쳐서 바람직한 스타일과 표현법을 발전시켜 왔다는 사실을 감안한다면 '전후문학' 역시 하루 아침에 갑자기 생겨난 것은 아닐 것이다. 거기에는 패전이라는 엄청난 사건이 개입해 있어서 새로운 변화라는 것은 필연적인 것이이었지만, 또 한편으로는 그 이전부터 면면히 이어져 오는 전통의 지속이라는 점도 무시할 수 없다.
이와 같이 '전후문학'이 기존문학과의 지속성을 가지면서 새롭게 변용되어 가는 과정을 분석하고 파악하는 것은 그것을 이해하는데 빼놓을 수 없는 관점이다. 따라서 이러한 관점에 의거해서 기존문학과 '전후문학'과의 상호관련 속에서 '전후문학'의 진정한 새로움은 무엇인지 앞으로 좀더 해명해 가고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The objective of this research study in Japan was to analyze and clarify the Japanese ‘postwar literature’ which centered around the members of ‘Modern Literature,’ a literary magazine created in the wake of great upheaval in the war-torn Japanese society.

As a result, it has been found that remarkable accomplishments were made by postwar writers to whom a number of noticeable events were owed such as Nobel Prize winning by Kenzaburo Oe, who has been making a great contribution to the Japanese literature since 1960’s.

However, it might be superficial to say that those changes were caused merely by such exterior factors as the collapse of values, dissolution of imperialism and its army, and social transformations after the defeat in the world war. They were subtly and gradually under progress before and even during the war.

Considering the fact that literature in every country develops its own style and mode of expression for a long period of time based on its traditions, Japanese ‘postwar literature’ is certainly not a product of one day as well. As apparently the catastrophic event of losing a great war must have made the new changes inevitable, it should also not be ignored that it has succeeded the long-standing traditions.

Therefore, it is essential to examine and analyze the process through which the ‘postwar literature’ is undergoing changes in line with the existing literature. In this regard, the significance of the ‘postwar literature’ is to be explored in its relation to the existing literature.
