The purpose of this study was to investigate the use of delexical verb get + noun collocations by Korean learners of English focusing on the frequency of the construction, semantic fields of the noun collocates, and types and sources of collocational errors. Toward this end, delexical get + noun collocations in the Korean subcorpus of ICLE were analyzed in comparison with those in the control corpus LOCNESS. Results showed that the Korean learners overused the delexical get + noun combinations compared with their native speaker peers. The two groups also revealed discrepancy in the use of noun collocates belonging to different seman0211219ic fields. In terms of types of deviant collocations, usage in verbs, determiners, numbers, and nouns were particularly problematic for the learners. Deviant collocations were attributable to the inextricable intertwining of L1 influence, intralingual development, and target language input.
