전남지역 미한 소국과 백제 문헌자료로 본 침 미다례(彌多禮)의 위치 = The location of Chimmidarye reviewed through the literature survey

This study intend to show the location of Chimmidarye[침彌多禮] through the survey of literature. In the former studies, it was regarded as the another name of Sinmiguk[新彌國], which appears in Jinshu, in the second half of third century, and the putative location of Chimmidarye were Haenam, Gangjin or Jejudo. There is no big difference on the putative location of Chimmidarye, however, there should be some clarification on the interpretation of Jingu 49th year record of Japanese historical document Nihonshoki. Jingu 49th year record of Nihonshoki does not mean Baekje`s complete conquer against the remnants of Mahan. Though the record states that Baekje defeat the southern barbarian Chimmidarye after arriving in Gohaejin[古奚津], Gohaejin and Chimmidarye are the names of location which appear during the domination of south-western coastal traffic route to Gaya and Wa by Baekje in the second half of fourth century. Gohaejin and Chimmidarye were Domu-gun[道武郡] of 5-Bang system in Baekje, and coincide with the location of present Haenam and Gangjin. The capital place of Domu-gun might be Chimmyeong-hyun[浸溟縣] area. The name of Domu-gun was renamed as Yangmu-gun[陽武郡] in the era of unified Shilla and its capital was located in present Byoungyong in Gangjin. I think the location of Chimmidarye might be Chimmyeong-hyun, which coincide with present Hyunsan-Myeon, Haenam-gun. Baekje wanted to dominate this area because this area was the important traffic route to Gaya and Wa. Though the conquer of Chimmidarye doesn`t mean the secure of Yeongsan-River basin, Baekje can block the alliance between the group of Youngam and Naju in Youngsan-River basin and Chimmidarye. In conclusion, the conquer of Chimmidarye by Baekje is important change in securing the traffic route to Gaya and Wa with the suppression of Gara seven countries.
