The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of participation in dance sports on the interpersonal relation. 346 seniors were selected as subjects who participated in dance sports in Deajeon city. For this study, Interpersonal Relation Questionnaire(IRQ) was used to determ levels of participation, interpersonal reation and participation demonstrated by the subjects. To analyze the data collected, descriptive statistics one-way(two and three-way)ANOVA, and Multiple regression analysis were performed.
The major findings of this study were as follow;
1. There were significant differences in the role orientation of the interpersonal relation based on the frequency of participation. The result implied that participants who report higher levels of participation in dance sports develop higher dominance over individual or group. This study, also, showed that higher intensity of participation may develop social relation Orientation and expression orientation.
2. It was revealed that participants who were influenced by friends of all participation agents showed high level of social relation orientation. The participants who were influenced by showed high level of expression orientation.
