어머니의 양육스트레스 및 의도적 통제가 역기능적 훈육행동에 미치는 영향 = 의도적 통제의 매개효과를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 걸음마기 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 어머니의 양육스트레스와 의도적 통제가 역 기능적 훈육행동을 예측하는지 살펴보고, 의도적 통제가 양육스트레스와 역기능적 훈육행동과의 관계에 서 매개역할을 하는지 알아보는데 있다. 연구대상은 2～3세 자녀를 둔 어머니 151명이었으며, 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석, 매개효과 검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 양육스트레스와 의도적 통제, 역기능적 훈육행동 중 과잉훈육은 서로 유의미하게 상관이 있었으며, 역기능적 훈육행동 중 방임훈육은 유의미한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육스트레스와 의도적 통제는 과잉훈육을 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 양육스트레스와 과잉훈육과의 관계에서 의도적 통제는 이를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 어머니의 양육스트레스가 높을수록 의도적 통제에 부정적 영향을 끼 치게 되고, 의도적 통제 수준이 낮을수록 역기능적 훈육행동인 과잉훈육을 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 어머니의 의도적 통제노력은 스트레스 상황에서 역기능적 훈육행동(과잉훈육)을 낮 추기도 하지만, 의도적 통제능력이 낮은 어머니의 경우 훈육행동에 대한 조절이 잘 이루어지지 않음을 고 려하여 이를 위한 예방과 부모교육이 필요함을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to investigate if parenting stress and effortful control predict dysfunctional parenting for the mothers who have a child subject to discipline, and if effortful control plays a mediation role between parenting stress and dysfunctional parenting. The subject of the study were 151 mothers of children aged between 1.5 and 3, and, for the study, correlation analysis, hierarchical analysis, and mediating effect verification were performed. The result was as follows：first, there was a significant correlation between parenting stress and effortful control and overreactivity in dysfunctional parenting. Laxness in dysfunctional parenting, however, did not show a significant correlation. Second, parenting stress and effortful control of mothers were predictors of overreactivity. Third, in the relationship between parenting stress and overreactivity of mothers, effortful control partly mediated the two variables. In other words, a high level of parenting stress of mothers had a negative effect of effortful control and a low level of effortful control led to a higher probability of overreactivity, which is a type of dysfunctional parenting. The result of this study implies that effortful control of mothers can reduce dysfunctional parenting (overreactivity) in stressful situations, but, also, mothers who are less capable of effortful control can have difficulty adjusting the level of parenting. Therefore, relevant prevention and parenting education is needed.
