인문 데이터 편찬 교육은 어떻게 가능한가: 고려대 <데이터인문학> 강의를 중심으로 = How Can We Teach Cultural Data Compilation? - Focusing on the Data Humanities Course at Korea University

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 2021년부터 2025년까지 고려대학교 문과대학에서 운영된 교양 과목 <데이터인문학> 강의 사례를 중심으로, 인문 데이터 편찬에 기초한 디지털 인문학 교육의 구체적 내용을 소개하고자 한다. 해당 강의는 데이터 분석 도구의 기능적 사용법을 익히는 데 초점을 두기보다, 학생들이 인문학적 문제의식을 바탕으로 데이터를 직접 설계하고 편찬하는 과정을 경험하는 데 주안을 두고 설계되었다. 이를 위해 이론보다 실습, 개인보다 협업을 중심으로 교육 과정을 구성하였으며, 협업 플랫폼으로서 미디어위키를 활용하여 팀 단위로 학생들이 연구 주제를 선정하고, 온톨로지를 설계하며, 트리플 데이터를 편찬하고, 이를 시각화·분석하는 전 과정을 수행하도록 하였다. 본고에서는 15주 강의의 단계별 구성과 평가 체계를 소개하고, 서울의 역사와 문화를 중심 주제로 수행된 학생들의 프로젝트 사례를 들여다봄으로써 인문 데이터 편찬 교육의 구체적 양상을 정리하였다. 대상 자원에 대한 인문학적 사유를 바탕으로 의미 있는 질문을 던지는 역량을 길러주는 것이 디지털 인문학 교육의 핵심적 목적임을 고려할 때, AI가 상용화·보편화 되어가는 현대 인문학 교육의 방향을 모색하는 데 있어서 본고가 작게나마 기여하는 바가 있기를 바란다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper introduces a case study of digital humanities education based on cultural data compilation, focusing on the liberal arts course Data Humanities offered at the College of Liberal Arts, Korea University, from 2021 to 2025. Rather than focusing on the functional mastery of data analysis tools, the course was designed to enable students to experience the process of designing and compiling data based on their own humanistic research questions. To this end, the curriculum prioritized practice over theory and collaboration over individual work. Using MediaWiki as a collaborative platform, students worked in teams to select research topics, design ontologies, compile triple data, and perform visualization and analysis. This paper presents the structure of the 15-week course and its evaluation system, and examines the specific aspects of cultural data compilation education by exploring student project cases centered on the history and culture of Seoul. Given that the core of digital humanities education lies in cultivating the ability to ask meaningful questions based on humanistic reflection, this paper may serve as a modest reference for the direction of humanities education in an era in which AI is becoming increasingly commercialized.
