거리의 아동(Street Children)을 위한 선교 = Mission for Street Children

This study has been carried out to urge the Church``s concern for street children and to seek a mission practices of the church for them. For this, current situation of street children, the problems and effects of street children, supporting activities related to international community and organizations have been analysed and from this, principles of mission for street children have been sought from the biblical and missiological foundation. The number of the street children are reached 100 million globally and is expected to increase in the future. The problems street children experiencing are extreme poverty, lack of educational opportunities and unsafe protection, the risk of disease, violence, and the risk of kidnapping abuse, labor exploitation, various criminal and drug abuse and the risk of prostitution, distorted personality formation, negative label of society. The street children are not getting recognized his worth and dignity of human rights and living in extremely dangerous situations with discrimination and inhuman. If there is no external help or intervention, street children will be losing their hope and becoming tumble at the expense of society. Various supports for the street children have been made by government agencies and private sectors. It is classified as correction and rehabilitation, outreach and prevention. Supports for street children are summarized in the rescue and counseling, treatment and rehabilitation, provision of accommodation and educational opportunities, including twinning. In spite of its best efforts for street children in a variety of forms, the international community and organizations were not able to maximize the effect of support of street children due to factors such as limitations of statistics aggregation of street children, situational limitations of state and society, the limits of family system, cultural limits and the limit of the way of approach to the issue. In such a situation, the necessity of a ministry of the Church for street children is found with historical examples of the Sunday School, lesson of the Old and New Testaments and the documents of the international community in Lausanne Movement. Why should the church involve in the ministry for street children and how and what the church can to are presented in the Bible and Lausanne documents. This study has suggested principles of mission practice for street children in four: Building a trust relationship with street children, customizing the way of approach according to the causes and circumstances of each street child and empowering street children and approaching with holistic perspective. This study emphasizes again the missionary responsibility of the Church for street children living in the most difficult and harshest environments in the world, and thus the interests and awareness of the church community and participational substantiality. For the church to act as a core missional institution within the society to develop and mobilize available resources in order to promptly solve the crisis of street children and to become a dynamic factor of socio-cultural transformation were ordered.
