    Landscape patterns in urban regions are usually influenced by human-induced change in land cover in the process of urbanization. Landscape diversity is an effective parameter representing landscape spatial patterns. This purpose of the study is to analyze changes of landscape pattern using metrics index of landscape ecology in Gyeongsan-si. Especially, Land cover classification was carried out using Landset TM image that is learned about real land use, not nominated land use. Through analysis about changes of land use between 1985 and 2000 in Gyeong-San city, we realized most forest have been converted to urban areas.<br/>
    In order to know changes about morphological characteristics, we analyzed fractal dimension index. Fractal dimension index commonly increased little by little in forest, farmland, urban areas and so on. Because it is meant to be gradually more complex in aspect of patch form, it is undesirable in the ecological perspective.<br/>
