      This study was to evaluate the functional and physiological effect of Healer Power-Up Shoes. The subjects of this study were the healthy and female rearfoot strikers aged 30~40 years except the extremely flat and high arch foot. Under same exercise condition, the well known bland sports shoes and Healer Power-Up Shoes were compared. To evaluate the function of shoes, the kinematic factors including the change of lower leg angle and rearfoot angle using cinematographic analysis, the absorbtion level of impact force, and the pattern of plantar pressure distribution were analyzed. Also to verify the physiological effect, the physiological factors including oxygen and metabolic consumption rate using the method of respiration gas analysis were analyzed under same exercise condition. As the results, the following conclusion were drawn. In single gait cycle, significant differences (p<.01) were found for lower leg angle between Healer Power-Up Shoes and sport shoes. Healer Power-Up Shoes were greater for knee and hip angle than sport shoes. No significant differences were found for vertical impact and load rate, but Healer Power-Up Shoes were greater for average propulsive force than sport shoes and statistical differences (p<.05) were observed. In region of forefoot pressure, the maximum plantar pressure distribution of Healer Power-Up Shoes were similar to sport shoes, however, at the moment of striking the rearfoot, Healer Power-Up Shoes indicated the wide pressure distribution in rearfoot region (M6:p<.05, M7:p<.001). In the verification of physiological effect, Healer Power-Up Shoes showed an average 2ml/kg/min higher for oxygen consumption rate than sport shoes, and significant statistical differences (p<.05) were observed. Also, Healer Power-Up Shoes was 7.1% higher for calorie consumption than sport shoes.
