보웬의 자아분화와 룻기 신학 = The Concept of Bowen`s Self-Differentiation and a Theology of the Book of Ruth

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to try to criticise the concept of Bowen`s selfdifferentiation based on the theology of the Book, Ruth. The author reviewed the nature of person who is well differentiated in regarding to Bowen`s concept in a multi generational family counseling theory, and evaluated the degree of self differentiation of two main characters in the Book, Ruth, Naomi and Ruth. The author summarized three features of well-differentiated person: strong goal oriented behavior, a good balance between individuality and togetherness and a well developed intellectual system. The author tried to describe two people`s degree of self differentiation based on their outer behavior. Then the author reviewed the essence of Ruth theology which can be summarized as Goel and hessed, and explained how the knowledge of God can increase the level of self differentiation. The main difference between Bowen`s idea and the theology of the Book, Ruth in understanding how to increase a degree of self differentiation can be summarized as following: 1) The intelligence of human being can be well developed only when people know God who promised salvation by His mighty and infiniteness, not by human being`s high intelligence. 2) While Bowen tried to make a good balance between individuality and togetherness because of not knowing God who is all mighty and infinite, Naomi and Ruth could show an independent behavior and highly goal oriented behavior as well as a caring and responsible behavior because of knowledge of God of hessed. Finally, the author practically suggested some implications of the findings to a Christian counseling.
