상모 춤에 내재된 미학사상 연구 = A Study on the Aesthetic Thought Inherent in Sangmo Dance

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is, with Sanmo dance as the research subject, to compare the discriminating features according to its performance methods, and so analyze the movements of lines, curves, and circles, which are shown according to each of Chaesang methods, and then explore their aesthetic values. The expression of Sangmo dance, which can be regarded as the instrument and material of Pungmul dance, is represented in the various forms according to the change of movements. The lines, which are shown in the space, lead to movements, rhythms, Jinpuli, and gestures, and Sangmo structurizes the aesthetic orbit in the process through circles and curves. Because the lines, which are shown in performer's body and Sanmo, are the spatiotemporal performance styles which occur simultaneously, this study analyzed systematically the functional classification through the aesthetic feature, thought, and sense of harmony, and extended the geometrical shape into the thought and principle of Korean dance, and so tried to make the principle of Sangmo dance the new premise according to the functional features. The aesthetic features according to the functions of Sangmo dance are represented variously. The results are as follows. First, the names of Sangmo were called differently respectively according to the revolving directions, frequencies, shapes, and features of objects. Second, each movement of Sangmo dance was the movement of circles and curves, whose aesthetic feature was associated with its original stream. Third, the thought of Samjae (the three elements), which was based on the principles of yin and yang (the negative and positive) inherent in the beauty of Korea, was closely associated with Sangmo dance. Fourth, the natural beauty of body was the thought of unity like the movement of Sangmo, and was the scientific movement. Fifth, each movement of Sangmo dance contained the beauty of the golden mean through yin and yang (the negative and positive), and the movement of Sangmo dance was closely related to the thought of naturalism which could be easily found in life. It is not easy to apply the expression on the movements of Sangmo dance to reality and so conduct its aesthetic analysis. However, if the steady research is accomplished through the phased and systematical analysis, the aesthetic inquiry according to its meanings and contents will progress a step forward.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 상모 춤을 연구 대상으로 하여, 그 연희 방식에 따른 변별적 특징을 비교하면서 각각의 채상방법에 따라 나타나는 선과 곡선, 원의 움직임을 분석하고 그 미적가치를 탐구하는데 있다. 풍물춤의 기재라 할 수 있는 상모춤은 그 표현이 움직임의 변화에 따라 다양한 형태로 표출된다. 공간속에 나타나는 선(線)들은 움직임과 춤(율동), 진풀이, 몸짓 등으로 이어지며, 상모는 원과 곡선 등을 통하여 미적 궤도를 과정 속에 구조화 시키는 측면을 보인다고 하겠다. 연희자의 신체와 상모 속에 나타나는 선들은 동시에 일어나는 시⋅공간적인 공연양식이므로 어울림에 대한 미적특성, 사상, 미적감각(美的感覺)을 통하여 기능적 분류를 체계적으로 분석하고 기하학적인 모양을 한국무용의 사상과 원리 등으로 확대함으로써 상모춤의 원리를 기능적 특성에 따라 새로운 전재를 만들고자 시도하였다. 상모춤의 기능에 따라 미적특성은 다양하게 표출되며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상모의 명칭은 물체의 회전하는 방향, 횟수, 모양, 특성에 따라 각각 다르게 불려졌다. 둘째, 상모춤 각각의 사위는 원과 곡선의 움직임으로 그 미적특성은 사상적 원류와 연관성이 있다. 셋째, 한국의 미(美)에, 내재된 음양(陰陽) 원리로 된 삼재(三才)사상은 상모춤과 밀접한 연관성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 넷째, 신체의 자연스런 미는 상모의 움직임과 같은 합일(合一)사상이었으며, 과학적인 움직임이었다. 다섯째, 상모춤의 각각의 사위는 음양(陰陽)을 통한 중용(中庸)의 미(美)가 내재되어 있었고, 상모춤의 움직임은 생활 속에서도 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있는 자연주의 사상과 밀접한 관계가 있었다. 상모춤의 움직임에 대한 표현을 실제에 적용하여 미적분석을 한다는 것은 쉬운 일은 아니다. 하지만 단계적이고 체계적인 분석을 통한 꾸준한 연구를 통한다면 그 의미와 내용에 따른 미적탐구는 한걸음 진보할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
