    1804년 정조가 성인이 되는 세자에게 왕위를 넘기고 화성으로 가려고 했던 계획을 갑자년 구상이라고 한다. 그러나 그 실체에 대해서 기록이 많지 않아 충분히논의되지 못하였다. 이 글은  태상황전위문적 과 정조의 갑자년 구상의 관련성을고찰하여 이 계획이 실재했던 계획이었음을 밝혔다. 살아서 국왕의 전위를 언급하는 것은 不忠의 영역이다. 따라서 신하들의 기록에 잘 나타나지 않으며 표현되어도은미하게 드러난다.
    장서각에 소장된  태상황전위문적 은 조선과 청 사이에 오고 간 외교문서를 한글로 번역하여 책자로 만든 자료이다. 특정 사안에 대한 외교문서를 책자로 만든사례도 이례적이고 한글로 번역한 정황도 특이하다. 특징으로 한글로 번역된 점, 어렵지 않는 용어에 주석을 단 점, 외교문서를 한글로 번역한 점 등으로 미루어왕실의 고위 여성에게 갑자년 구상을 설명 또는 설득하기 위해 제작한 것으로 추정된다. 그 대상은 당시 정치적인 영향력이 컸던 영조의 왕비였던 정순왕후로 짐작할 수 있다. 정조는 살아서 세자에게 왕위를 넘기려는 구상은 청 건륭제의 전위소식과 맞물려 구체적으로 실천하고자 하였다. 다만 정조가 1800년 승하함에 따라이 구상은 실천하지 못하고 계획으로 남았다.

However, there are not many records about its substance, so it has not been sufficiently discussed. The case of making diplomatic documents into booklets on specific issues is also unusual, and the situation of translating them into Korean is also unusual.
