초음파와 홀몬검사를 이용한 난포성장에 관한 연구 = Correlation of Ultrasonic Measurement of Ovarian Follicle Size and Serum Estradiol Levels after the Administration of Clomiphene Citrate

Ovarian follicle development was investigated in 13 normally cycling women who received clomiphene citrate 100mg per day from 3rd day of last menstrual period for 5 days. Ultrasonic determination of follicular growth was performed on a daily basis with sector scanning of gray scanner and correlated with daily concentration of serum 17β-estradiol as measured by radioimmunoassay. The results were as follows: 1. The mean concentrations of serum 17β-estradiol of the last day after clomiphene administration (day 0) and day 4 were 301 pg/ml and 906 pg/ml respectively. These values were gradually increased from day 0 to day 4. 2. The diameters of the follicle of day 0 and day 4 were 12.9mm and 21.7mm respectively. These values were gradually increased from day 0 to day 4. 3. The formula between the concentrations of serum 17β-estradiol and the growth rates of follicle was Y=0.0145X + 8.991 (r=0.991, p<0.001). 4. The mean estradiol value per follicle sized over 18 mm per day was 470 pg/ml.
