1. The meaning of Buddhism projected in the poems of So Jongju is important. This concept is used for selecting materials, subjects and the ways of understanding. It has been mentioned that the inter-textuality between the poetic world of So Jongju and Buddhism for a long time. 2. For So Jongju, the sprit of Silla is related to the desire of utopianism. The sprit of Silla was one of controversial items which evoked extraordinary attention and sharp debate in the 1960`s Korean literary world. His attention of Silla is heightened in a small article 『The research of Silla』(1960), submitted for qualification screening committee of professors, and his fourth book of poetry 『Sillacho』(1960). 3. It seems that he takes pungryudo as poetrical priciple after 1950`s. In fact, it is his poetic essence. The reason that his poetic world is influenced or condensed by pungryudo comes from the impact of the thought of a Orientalist, Kim Jongsul who was an influential thinker of that period. Kim Jongsul is a novelist, Kim Donglee`s eldest brother. Recently, a poet, Kim Jiha, insists that we should shed new light on Kim Jongsul.
