A Space-plane is a reusable space transportation vehicle that performs missions in space and returns to earth by re-entering, glide, and landing. Space-planes require core technologies such as thermal protection systems, hypersonic and high-altitude flight, and autonomous glide/landing, and involve a high level of technical risk and difficulty. Advanced aerospace organizations use test vehicles called Technology Demonstrators to test and evaluate core technologies for space-planes. Test vehicle flight tests are essential for validating core technologies and reducing technical risks. This paper reviews glide/landing flight tests of space-planes, summarizing and analyzing the types, objectives, conditions, methods, and procedures of flight tests, as well as the test facilities and equipment.
