The turbine inlet temperature(TIT) of the early commercial gas turbine engine, which appeared in 1942 from General Electric in the United States, was about 900°C, but the latest TIT, more than 80 years later, increased to 1,900°C for aircraft. This is because the higher the TIT, the better the thermal efficiency and power of the gas turbine engine. This made it possible to fly the aircraft supersonic, and this development was made with the support of the steady development of high-temperature parts. In particular, high-temperature parts consisting of turbine vanes and blades are a key component of the turbine section of a gas turbine engine and are based on super heat-resistant alloy materials, single crystal casting, thermal barrier coating, and effective cooling technology. In this paper, the recent technology trends in aircraft gas turbine engine materials and manufacturing are reviewed.
