만성정신질환자를 돌보는 기독교인 어머니의 심리사회적 현상 연구 = A study on the psychosocial phrnomenon of Christian mothers who have cared patient with chronic mental illness

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 만성정신질환자를 돌보는 기독교인 어머니의 심리사회적 현상을 심층적으로 탐구하는 연구이다. 이를 위해 정신질환자 자녀를 둔 40–60대의 기독교인 어머니 7명을 심층면담하였으며, 이들은 서울 000교회 정신질환자들의 회복을 위한 자조모임인 ‘한마음치유공동체’에서 표집하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 만성정신질환자를 돌보는 기독교인 어머니들에 대한 심리사회적 현상을 환원적으로 분석하고, 그것들을 상호관계로 연결하여 총체적인 현상을 볼 수 있는 Paul Colaizzi의 현상학적 방법을 적용하였다. 분석 결과 만성정신질환자를 돌보는 기독교인 어머니들의 심리사회적 현상의 중심 현상은 ‘고통의 밑바닥에서 천국을 소망하며 살아내기’로 나타났다. 또한 참여자들의 심리사회적 현상은 37개의 주제들과 11개의 주제군으로 나타났으며, 이 주제군들은 현상학적 기술을 통해 심리사회적 현상에 대한 특성과 신앙적 의미로 구분되었다. 특히 본 연구에서 드러난 참여자들의 심리사회적 현상은 하나의 연속선상의 발달 과정이 아니며, 돌보는 어머니의 심리상태나 개인적인 특성, 신앙의 성숙도, 주위환경, 자녀의 문제증상, 그리고 사회적 여건에 따라 순환적이고 유동적일 수 있음을 제시하였다. 또한 만성정신질환자를 돌보는 기독교인 어머니들의 심리사회적 현상에 대한 신앙적 의미는 신앙적 지지자원을 통하여 자기실현의 기회를 갖고, 신앙공동체에서 다양한 정보를 공유하고 긍정적인 변화를 경험하는 것으로 발견되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The goal of this study is to do deep investigation into psychosocial phenomenon of the mothers who have cared chronic mental patients. We interviewed 7 christian mothers, aged 40–60 years, who had experienced to care for mental patients children and they take part in the assembly, ‘Hanmaeun Healing community’ which is for the recovery of mental patients at 000 church. The method used in this study required reductive analysis of psychosocial phenomenon of the mothers who have cared chronic mental patients children and Colaizzi’s phenomenological approach was therefore adopted to link their interrelation to observe the phenomenon in general. It was found as a result that the critical phenomenon of psychosocial of christian mothers who have cared mental patients children is ‘Surviving from severe pain by looking at the kingdom of the heaven.’ In addition, this study showed 37 subjects and 11 subject groups on psychosocial phenomenon of participants and these subject groups were divided into characteristic of psychosocial phenomenon and religious meaning by using phenomenlolgical sociology analysis. The psychosocial phenomenon of participants is not just on the continuous stage, but it could be changeable due to mothers’ psychosocial status and individual characters, religious faith, social environments, problematic symptom of the child and social conditions. The religious meaning of psychosocial phenomenon of christian mothers’ who have cared chronic mental patients is that they could have opportunity to find their identity based on religious support resources and in religious community, it became a place for mothers to have a variety of information and experience positive change.
