국내 스포츠 노동이주 현상과 유연한 시민권의 발현 = The Phenomenon of Sports Labor Migration and Manifestation of Flexible Citizenship in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Sports labor migrants would deicide to move overseas in the context of Neo-liberal global process according to basic principle of capitalism, which it has happened in the complex circumstances such as competitive sport market structure, each nation's situation and the result of rational decision of individual agents. The influx of sports labor migrants to South Korea started from 1983 who are working in almost all popular professional sports as seeking further development of Korean professional sport and political purpose of government and sports governing body. Sports labor migrants and athletes naturalized as Korean citizens have increased steadily, and it is expected that more naturalized athletes would appear with permission of plural nationality from 2010 in Korean society. Although the number of sports labor migrants is a small minority compared with Korean native athletes, sports labor migrants is a good case to manifest the cultural connection and negotiation, adaptation and conflict, acceptance and exclusion with influence of popular sports and cultural significance. Especially, increasing migration and immigration are creating enormous discussions and debates about exclusive citizenships based on historically homogenous ethnic and racial national formations and the implications of accommodating more inclusive, democratic, and flexible forms of citizenship. It also forms a social consensus to convert public awareness in Korean society.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

스포츠 노동이주자들은 신자유주의적 세계화 과정 속에서 자본주의적 기본원리에 따른 경쟁적인 스포츠 시장 구조, 각각의 국가가 처한 상황 등 그리고 개별 행위자의 합리적 선택의 결과로 이주를 결정하게 된다. 국내의 스포츠 노동이주자들은 한국 스포츠의 발전을 모색하기 위한 방안 및 스포츠 조직 및정부의 정책적 목적으로 1983년부터 유입되기 시작하여 대부분의 인기있는 프로리그에서 활동하고 있다. 한국 사회에서 스포츠 노동이주자들과 귀화선수들은 점차적으로 증가하고 있는 추세이며, 2010년부터 실시되는 복수국적자의 허용은 더 많은 귀화선수들이 나타날 것으로 전망된다. 비록 한국 스포츠계에서 활동하고 있는 스포츠 노동이주자들의 수는 국내 선수들에 비해 미약하다고 할 수 있으나, 대중적인 스포츠의 영향력과 문화적 의미에서 스포츠 노동이주자들은 문화적 접속과 교섭, 적응과 갈등, 수용과 배제의 현상을 보여줄 수 있는 사례가 된다. 특히, 스포츠는 세계화, 이주, 그리고 시민권에 관련된쟁점의 분석을 위한 중요한 분야라는 점에서 그들은 한국 사회에서 역사적으로 단일민족주의적 형태에기초한 배타적인 시민권에서 더욱 포괄적인 국가의 구성원으로의 유연한 형태의 시민권에 대한 토론과쟁점을 불러일으키고, 대중의 인식을 변환시키는 시발점을 형성해 나아가고 있다.
