디지털 도시화와 정신쇠약적 주체의 탄생 - ‘생물학적 여성’과 강박적 도시문화 = Digital Urbanization and Emergence of Psychasthenia - ‘biological Woman’ in Obsessive Urban Culture

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this paper, I identifies ‘digital urbanization’ and argues that digital urbanization, along with neoliberalism, gave birth to of psychasthenia and obsessive urban culture, and created the flow of feminism obsessed with ‘biological women’.
According to Marshall McLuhan and Edward Soja, a digitalpolis is a “real and imaginary reality” full of digital images that can be co-created through participatory practice. Digital urbanization refers to a transformation into a form of life that engages in political, economic, and cultural communication through digital media.
Borrowing Donna Haraway’s concept, the body of a citizen living in a digital polis can be understood as a field of ‘material-semiotics’ formed through the interaction between humans and non-humans. However, amid the flood of simulations, they come to forget their relationship with organisms and materials. According to Celeste Olalquiaga, in the world of simulacrum, the subject of psychasthenia, who falls into the fear of self-deconstruction as the ego mixes with the environment, tries to overcome the crisis through an imaginary image with clear boundaries. Filming and watching illegal videos that reduce women to specific body images is a representative compulsive urban culture that tried to overcome the crisis of masculinity. Women feel the fear of their body being invaded in this urban culture, and they also try to fight the crisis while emphasizing the imaginary image of a ‘biological woman’. However, this counter-movement through imaginary identification eventually leads to the exclusion of heterogeneity such as transgender people and refugees.
