전통춤 비평현황과 전망

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 전통춤 비평의 현황을 살펴보고 전망에 대해 조망하는 것을 목적으로 하며 이를 통하여 전통춤 비평의 전문성을 확보하는데 초석이 되기를 희망하며 이에 의의를 둔다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 2012년부터 2017년 5월까지 무 용전문잡지인 『댄스포럼』·『몸』·『춤』·『춤과 사람들』 4종과 무용전문 웹사이트인 <<댄스포스트코리아>>와 << 춤웹진>> 그리고 단행본인 김영 희의 전통춤평론집 『춤풍경(舞風景)』의 비평문들을 연구대상으로 삼았다. 연구방법으로는 대상 평문들을 지역별·연도별·비평가별 게재수를 분석하여 비평의 양적 상황을 파악한 후 대상 비평문들의 내용 분석을 통하여 비평가별 평문의 구조적 틀과 유형을 파악하였으며 이를 통해 유추되는 결과를 바탕으로 대두되는 문제제기를 제안점으로 제시하였다. 이와 같은 과정을 통하여 도출된 결과는 전통춤 공연 대비 비평의 수 가 매우 적다는 점이며, 무용전문잡지별 가장 많은 게재수를 보인 것은 『춤과 사람들』이고 웹사이트는 <<춤웹진>>이 게재 수에 있어서 <<댄 스포스트코리아>>에 비해 우위에 있는 것으로 드러났다. 연도별로는 2014년이 가장 많은 게재수를 보이는 해로 나타났으며, 비평가별로는 총41편을 게재한 김영희가 가장 많은 평을 쓴 것으로 파악되었다. 또 비평가들은 서울지역을 중심으로 국공립단체공연, 전통춤 원로나 1·2 세대의 공연을 주 비평 대상으로 삼았음을 확인하였다. 비평문 내용분석에 의한 결과도출은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전통춤 비평문들은 각 레파토리 소개 및 특징적 인상과 평가에 관련된 내용을 주된 내용으로 하고 있으며 이는 비평의 기술적 측면이 강조된 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 공연의 의도·취지·목적과 평가의 의미·의의·가치 항목이 동일선상에서 서술되는 경우가 일반적이고 이는 비평의 맥락적인 차원 의 서술양상을 띄는 것으로 유추 가능하다. 셋째, 전통춤 비평문들에서 핵심 내용은 각 레파토리별 특징적 인상 항목이다. 이는 비평의 주관적 견지의 해석 성향과 인상비평의 유형을 취하고 있는 것으로 추정할 수 있다. 넷째, 비평문에서 움직임 묘사나 특징적 인상 또는 미적 표현에 있어 서 가장 많이 사용되는 단어들은 여성미(적), 섬세, 절제(미), 자유·자유분방·자유자재, 즉흥적(성), 풍류(정신)인 것으로 드러났다. 위와 같은 결과를 토대로 논자는 비평대상의 전국적 확대와 전통춤 장르에 맞는 비평적 준거 마련과 함께 전통춤 전문 비평가 양성 및 교 육 시스템의 확립이 요구된다고 보여 지며, 동시에 동시대적 방식의 비 평 공유 시스템에 대한 확대도 필요하다고 보여 진다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this article is to take a look at the status of the critique on traditional dance shed the light on prospect and has the implication on having the hope to secure the specialization in the critique on traditional dance through such purpose. In order to accomplish the foregoing research purpose, the subjects of this study were selected for the critiques of 4 kinds of dance specialized magazines of 『Dance Forum』, 『Momm』, 『Choom』 and 『Dance & People』 and dance specialized web-sites in <<Dance Post Korea>> and <<Dance Webzine>> and a separate volume for the collection of traditional dance reviews by Kim, Young-hee in 『Dance Scenery』 from 2012 to May 2017. As for the research method, the subject reviews are analyzed for individual number of posting for each region, for each year and for each critique to find out the quantified status of critiques, and through the analysis of contents of subject critical articles, the structural frame and type of review for each critique are found out. And the result formulated through the above should be based on presenting the issues emerged thereof. The result formulated through the foregoing process shows that the number of critiques compared to the traditional dance performance is extremely small, and 『Dance and People』 showed the most recording for each dance specialized magazine. For the web-site, <<Dance Webzine>> has the upper hand compared to <<Dance Post Korea>> in terms of the number of recordings. For each year, 2014 is shown to be the year with the most recording, and for each critique, Kim, Young-hee was shown to write the most reviews for a total of 41 cases. Also, the critics had the main subjects of critiques in the performance by national and public organization or traditional dance and the performance of first and second generations around the Seoul area. The result formulation by the contents analysis of critique articles is shown as follows. First, the traditional dance critiques have the main contents that are related to the introduction of each repertoire, characteristic impression and evaluation and it is considered to emphasize the technical aspect of critique. Second, intent-objectivity-purpose of performance and implicationmeaning- value category of evaluation are described in general and it can be assumed to have the narrative aspect of context level for criticism. Third, the core contents in the tradition dance critique are the characteristic impression category for each repertoire. It can be estimated to take the type of interpretative tendency and impressive criticism for subjective point of view. And, fourth, the most frequently used words in motion description, characteristic impression or aesthetic expression in the criticism are shown to be feminine beauty, sophistication, temperament (beauty), freedom, free spirit, unrestricted freedom, impromptu(ness), and artistic preference (spirit). On the basis of the foregoing result, this writer is seemed to be considered to establish the education system and advancement of the traditional dance-specialized critics together with the critical criteria preparation as appropriate to the nationwide expansion of the subject of critiques and traditional dance genre, and at the same time, it seems to require the expansion on the critique sharing system in the contemporary era.
