중년 여성의 디지털 평생교육 참여 경험의 의미와 HRD 관점의 실천 방향 = The Meaning of Middle-Aged Women’s Engagement in Digital Lifelong Education and Practical Directions from an HRD Perspective

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 중년 여성의 디지털 평생교육 참여동기와 학습 경험의 의미를 탐색하는데 있다. 현대의 중년 여성은 이전 세대보다 풍요로운 환경에서 성장하였으며, 높은 학력과 직업 경험을 가진 특징이 있다. 4차 산업혁명과 디지털 전환 시대를 맞아 삶의 전환기를 겪고 있는 중년 여성을 위해 지속적인 자기계발과 사회적 참여를 지원할 디지털 평생교육 프로그램 개발과 사회적 지원이 필요하다. 이를 위해 준거적 표집방법을 활용하여디지털 평생교육에 참여한 중년 여성 5명을 연구 대상으로 선정하였으며, 반구조화된 질문을 바탕으로 일대일 심층인터뷰를 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 Giorgi의 현상학적 4단계 분석 방법을 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 8개의 하위 구성요소와 29개의 의미 단위가 도출되었다. 도출된 구성요소는 ‘일상 속 장애물’, ‘디지털 평생교육 사전 인식’, ‘디지털 평생교육 참여하며 긍정적인 경험’, ‘디지털 평생교육 참여하며 어려움과 극복과정’, ‘디지털 평생교육 시스템 환경에 대한 경험과 요구’, ‘디지털 평생교육에 대한 인식 변화’, ‘타인의 변화’, ‘나 자신의 변화’로 나타났다. 본 연구는 현상학적 접근을 통해 중년 여성의 디지털 평생교육 경험을 심층적으로 이해하고자 하였으며, 이는 양적 연구로는 포착하기 어려운 개인적 · 상황적 의미를 드러낸다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 연구 결과를 기반으로 HRD 관점에서 중년 여성의 디지털 평생교육 활성화를 위한 실천적 시사점을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the motivations and the meanings of learning experiences of middle-aged women in digital lifelong education. Compared to previous generations, modern middle-aged women have grown up in more affluent environments and have had access to higher levels of education and a variety of work experiences. In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and digital transformation, the development of digital lifelong education programs and social support systems is essential to facilitate continuous self-development and social participation for middle-aged women undergoing life transitions.
To achieve this research objective, a purposive sampling method was used to select five middle-aged women who had participated in digital lifelong education. Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews and analyzed using Giorgi’s four-step phenomenological analysis method. The study identified eight key themes and 29 meaning units: ‘obstacles in daily life’, ‘preconceptions about digital lifelong education’, ‘positive experiences during participation’, ‘difficulties and coping processes’, ‘experiences and demands regarding the learning system’, ‘changes in perception’, ‘changes in others’, and ‘changes in oneself’.
This study, through a phenomenological approach, provides an in-depth understanding of the digital lifelong education experiences of middle-aged women, which are difficult to capture through quantitative methods. Based on the research findings, this study presented practical implications for promoting digital lifelong education for middle-aged women from an HRD perspective.
