경기도 31개 시군의 능률성 분석 = 자료포락분석의 적용

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper attempts to compare the efficiencies of 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province utilizing data envelopment analysis (DEA) with a sample of 31 localities. Traditional performance indicators expressed as ratios are helpful in accessing individual aspects of performance. However, different indicators often present different views of performance and provide little indication of overall performance. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a relatively new “data oriented” approach for evaluating the performance of a set of local governments. The results of the DEA indicates that the efficiencies of some localities are lower in comparison with those of other reference group in terms of population size, the numbers of public servants, and the level of financial independence rate.
The implications of the research results are that some localities need to decrease the numbers of public servants and increase the level of financial independence rate to become more efficient..
