This study was initiated to evaluate the level of vibration which is transmited to engine frame and the operator of 8PS diesel engine for agriculture.
For this purpose, 8PS diesel engines of 3 different engine builders were used in measuring accel. of vibration, velocity of vibration and displacement increased by engine revolution.
The results of the study are summarized as follows;
1. The accel. of vibration, velocity of vibration and displacement increased by engine revolution.
2. The accel. of vibration and velocity of vibration at X, Y and Z direction in case of no-load drive was shown to be bigger than those of motor drive by 3∼10% and 11∼25% at 2200rpm, respectively.
3. The accel. of vibration and velocity of vibration at X direction which is the same direction as piston moved were lagger than those of direction Y and Z.
4. The accel. of vibration an velocity of vibration at each direction have no relationship to No, of counter balance shaft.
5. To take care of the human body and engine frame, it is desirable to minimize the factors from which vibration is caused when engine is manufactured.
To get rid of fatigue and an obstacle, it is necessary to divide the rest period appropriately and to reduce the exposing time to vibration.
