초등학생의 ADHD 증상과 인터넷 중독 성향과의 관계: 불안과 사회기술의 매개효과 = Mediating Effects of Anxiety and Social Skills on the Relation between ADHD Symptoms and Disposition of Internet Addiction in Elementary School Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of anxiety and social skills on the relation between ADHD symptoms and disposition of internet addiction in elementary school students. For this study, self-reports data were collected from 255 students for ADHD symptoms, disposition of internet addiction, and anxiety along with their teachers’-reports data about social skills. Correlation analysis and Structural Equation Modeling were employed to examine the hypothesis. ADHD symptoms were positively correlated with anxiety and internet addiction, as well as negatively correlated with social skills. Anxiety was positively correlated with internet addiction, whereas social skills were negatively correlated with internet addiction. The association between ADHD symptoms and internet addiction were mediated by anxiety and social skills. Additionally, ADHD symptoms showed the direct effect on internet addiction. Based on the results, findings and implications are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 초등학생의 ADHD 증상과 인터넷 중독 성향 간 관계에서 불안과 사회기술이 매개하는지 살펴보았다. 울산광역시에 소재한 4개의 초등학교 5, 6학년 11개 학급 255명의 학생들과 이들의 담임교사를 대상으로, 학생에겐 ADHD 증상, 불안, 인터넷 중독 성향 척도를, 교사에겐 사회기술 척도를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였다. 초등학생의 ADHD 증상과 불안, 사회기술, 인터넷 중독 성향 간 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고, 불안과 사회기술이 초등학생의 ADHD 증상과 인터넷 중독 성향과의 관계에서 매개하는지 알아보기 위해 구조방정식을 사용하여 매개모형 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 초등학생의 ADHD 증상은 불안, 인터넷 중독 성향과 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 사회기술과는 부적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 불안은 인터넷 중독 성향과 정적인 상관관계가 있었고, 사회기술과 인터넷 중독 성향 간에는 부적인 상관관계가 있었다. 초등학생의 ADHD 증상은 인터넷 중독 성향에 직접적인 영향을 미치기도 하지만 불안과 사회기술을 매개하여 인터넷 중독 성향에 간접적인 영향을 미치기도 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과에 기초하여 논의 및 함의가 제시되었다.
