장애아동 보육시설의 실태와 보육정책적 함의 = Conditions of Specialized Daycare Centers for Young Children with Disabilities and Policy Implications

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The current research investigated the current status of services for young children with disabilities in Korea. The survey questionnaires were distributed to nationwide metropolitan cities in Korea during the November and December of 2005. 266 service centers including specialized daycare centers for young children with disabilities, inclusion daycare centers, private special education centers, social welfare service centers, and general daycare centers participated in the study. The findings of the study show that more than 50% of the centers were located in the area of low-middle living standard level. 92.5% of the centers and 81.5% of the inclusive centers guarantee their children the indoor facility accessibility. This findings suggest that urgent needs of securing all-covered facility accessibility and safety in routine activities for the children in the centers. The centers needs increased financial support for providing free daycare for the children, about 100,000won more. Results suggests several recommendations for meeting their needs including developing and implementing effective service programs and governmental policy for securing their needs.
