Under the zoning provisions in Korea, the area of a zone has been defined in a broad unit area and controlled so stiffly and negatively that the aims of the systems are often found turned aside. Particularly, it has much more problems to apply the general residential district provisions in Building Law of Korea to the sites and the buildings alongs the south-to-north streets adjacent to the facilities which contain large people such as schools, government offices etc.
Through applying to a selected general residential area, therefore the problems on the provisions are practically sought and analysed in this paper and an improvement measure for them is proposed.
