In North Korea, after the excavation of Tangun's tomb in 1993, in order to promote and educate the newly revised views of Tangun and Go-Joseon among children and teenagers, in 2002 the figures of Korean history pictorial book-Tangun(5 volumes) was published with government support. In the publication of these books, Kang In-suk, North Korea's foremost authority on Goguryeo history along with Sohn Young-Jong, who played a pivotal role in newly revising North Korean views on Tangun and Go-Joseon after the excvation of Tangun's tomb participated. In these books, partial pre-modern Daoist publications and fictitious or fabricated Tangun and Go-Joseon related materials found in the publications of Daejongkyo affiliated figures of the early 20th century and afterwards are found reflected intact. These Daoist and Tangun and Go-Joseon related materials of Daejongkyo affiliated figures are far from historical context and if these materials are taught the whole organization of Korean history becomes seriously misrepresented and distorted. This paper presents the Tangun and Tangun-Joseon contents of the figures of Korean history pictorial book-Tangun(5 volumes) and at the same time examines the historical and archaeological background of knowledge of Tangun and Go-Joseon reflected in this book and it's problems.
