사실극과 코러스를 활용한 심리극의 극적 언어 양상 비교 : 창작 희곡 『그림아파트 1』, 『그림아파트 2』의 창작 실제 = Comparison of Dramatic Language Aspects in Psychodramas Using Realistic Drama and Choruses

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 같은 주제를 가진 창작 희곡 작품을 형식상 작법을 달리하여 2가지 버전으로 창작한 과정을 밝힌 논문이다. 이때 사실극인 『그림아파트 1』과 코러스를 활용한 심리극인『그림아파트 2』의 서사 전개 방식에 있어 극적 언어의 상이함이 어떤 양상으로 드러나는지 비교해 보고자 한다.
본고는 총 4장으로 구성되어 있다. 제1장 서론에서는 창작 과정에서 작품의 테마를 전달하기 위한 형식상의 고민을 밝혔다. 또한 창작에 도움이 될 극형식의 연구 범위와 방법을 밝혀 작품에 어떻게 적용할 것인지에 대해 다루었다.
제2장 창작에 관한 이론적 배경에서는 고대 그리스 비극에서 발생한 코러스의 기원과 기능을 알아보았다. 또 베르톨트 브레히트의 서사극에서 코러스의 쓰임을 탐구하였다. 코러스의 시대적 변화를 훑어보며 현대극에서 다원화된 코러스의 쓰임을 확인하였다. 또 사실주의가 태동하던 시기의 정세를 알아보고 제 4의 벽 이론과 사실주의극이 가지는 형식적 특징을 탐구하였다. 이후 사실주의가 수정 사실주의를 거쳐 현대에 이르며 변화한 양상을 고찰해 보았다. 이를 바탕으로 코러스를 활용한 현대극과 사실주의극 형식이 실제 작품에서 어떻게 적용되었는지 알아보기 위해 유사 작품인 입센의 사실주의극 『인형의 집』과 2005년 현대극으로 재탄생된 『아가멤논-유령 소나타』를 살펴보았다.
제3장에서는 창작 희곡인 『그림아파트 1』과 『그림아파트 2』를 분석하여 작품에서 다루고자 하는 주제를 구체적으로 밝혀 적었다. 또 개작 과정에서 극의 스타일을 달리했을 때 사용된 극적 언어의 변화 양상을 텍스트 분석을 통해 살펴보았다.
제4장 결론에서는 앞에서 탐구한 부분들을 재검토하고 창작 과정에서 극의 형식을 달리했을 때 극적 언어의 기법이 달라짐을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 극작의 스타일이 작가의 개성을 드러내는 수단일 뿐만 아니라 창작자의 역사적 인식을 드러내는 수단임을 확인 할 수 있을 것이라고 본다.

This thesis elucidates the process of creating two different versionsof a play that share the same theme but utilize different formats andtechniques. This paper aims to compare the narrative developmentand the differences in dramatic language between the realistic drama『Grim Apartment 1』 and the psychodrama 『Grim Apartment 2』which employs a chorus.This paper is composed of four chapters. Chapter 1, the introduction,outlines the considerations regarding format to effectively convey thetheme during the creative process. It also discusses the scope andmethods of researching dramatic forms that would aid in the creation,and how these findings would be applied to the work.Chapter 2 delves into the theoretical background of the creative process, exploring the origins and functions of the chorus in ancientGreek tragedy. It also investigates the use of the chorus in BertoltBrecht's epic theatre. Examining the historical evolution of thechorus, the chapter identifies its diverse roles in contemporarytheatre. Additionally, it examines the historical context during theemergence of realism, probing the theory of “The Fourth Wall” andthe formal characteristics of realistic drama. The chapter furtherreflects on how realism evolved through modified realism into itscontemporary forms. Building on this exploration, it investigates howmodern theatre incorporates choruses and the forms of realisticdrama, examining their application in actual works such as HenrikIbsen's realist play 『A Doll's House』 and the 2005 modernadaptation 『Agamemnon-Ghost Sonata』.Chapter 3 analyzes the original plays 『Grim Apartment 1』 and『Grim Apartment 2』, elucidating and specifying the themes intendedto be addressed in the works. It also examines the changes indramatic language that occurred when altering the style of the playduring the adaptation process through textual analysis.Chapter 4, the conclusion, revisits the aspects explored in theprevious chapters and confirms that the techniques of dramaticlanguage change when the format of the play is altered during thecreative process. This underscores that the style of playwriting notonly serves as a means to express the writer's individuality but alsoreveals the creator's historical awareness.
