The perception of the US people towards foreign nations are analyzed. First, the US public attitudes change over time as well as over countries. With controlling the factor of time, it may be said that Canada, Great Britain and Australia are coded as a favorable country to the US public while Iraq, Iran, Libya and North Korea are as unfavorable. Second, the interstate affect between the US and an individual nation is symmetric. They either like each other or dislike each other. Asymmetric affect is found with some very unfavorable countries as well as some unfavorable countries.
