연령통합 고령화 사회

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 고령화 사회와 함께 발생하고 있는 한국사회의 위험을 진단하고 그 발전방안을 수립하기 위한 패러다임의 전환과 구체적인 실천방안을 제시하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 우리사회의 급격한 고령화 사회로의 전환은 생애주기적 관점에 기초한 연령범주와 연령규범에 근거한 사회정책의 타당성에 대한 문제를 제기한다. 생애주기적 관점에서 마련된 연령분절적 사회구조에서 노년기는 은퇴 후 사회로부터 분리되어 여가를 즐기는 시기로 구분되었으며, 노인을 모든 정책과 제도가 마련되어 있는 사회에 순응하는 존재로 보고 사회활동에 법적, 제도적으로 여러 제한이 가해졌다. 그러나 인구 고령화가 더욱 가속화되는 미래사회에서는 노인 개개인의 역량을 인정하는 연령통합적 관점이 요구된다. 즉 미래의 성장동력으로서 고령인구에 대한 선택적 친화력이 높은 사회구성원리인 연령통합으로의 패러다임 전환의 필요성이 요구된다. 연령통합적 사회에서는 특정 사회적 역할로의 진입과 퇴장, 수행 여부가 연령에 의하여 결정되지 않으며, 다양한 사회적 활동을 개인의 욕구와 능력에 따라서 자유롭게 선택할 수 있으므로 자율적인 사회구성원으로서의 삶의 영위가 가능해지기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구는 생애주기적 관점에 기초한 고령사회에 대한 대책 및 접근의 문제점을 살펴보고, 연령통합적 사회로 패러다임 전환과 구체적인 실천방안을 살펴보았다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This research aims to analyze various risks associated with population ageing in Korea and proposes specific action plans to address the challenges and fuel a paradigm shift by establishing relevant development schemes. The rapid aging of Korean society questions the validity of age categories and age norms based on life course perspective. In an ageing society, old age population is defined as a group of people enjoying leisure time after retirement. Those people in the old-age category acclimate themselves to the new surroundings and are engaged in a social life with limitation. Age-integrated views are required to empower the elderly facing the accelerating aging society and ensure sustainable development in the long-term. These individuals are recommended to make major life choices based on their own needs and abilities, not by their age. Therefore, this research investigates the issue of life course perspective, reviews countermeasures regarding an aging society, and suggests a paradigm shift towards age-integrated society, all of which would provide a platform to prepare for the aging Korean society.
