베르그송의 `직관` 개념과 화이트헤드의 철학 = The Concept of Intuition of Bergson and Whithehead`s Philosophy

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 베르그송의 직관 개념을 화이트헤드가 자신의 철학 내에서 물리적 목적의 개념과 동일시한 것에 대한 문제의식에서 출발한다. 베르그송의 직관 개념은 유동성-존재 자체를 그 대상으로 하며, 기능적으로는 형이상학을 유동적 존재 위에 정초한다. 하지만 화이트헤드는 여전히 개념적 내용을 대상으로 하는 물리적 목적이라는 개념을 베르그송의 직관과 동일시하는 오류를 범했다. 따라서 본 논문은 화이트헤드 철학의 개념 중 베르그송의 직관개념과 유사한 것이 있는지 찾아본다. 이 글은 인과적 효과성의 지각 양태 베르그송의 직관 개념과 유사할 소지가 있다는 전제 하에 그 개념을 추적해 보지만 이 개념에게서 베르그송의 직관 개념과 유사한 그 어떠한 흔적도 발견하지 못한다. 따라서 본 논문은 철학적 방법론으로서 직관의 유무에 따라 철학을 두 갈래로 정리하고 화이트헤드의 철학 체계는 철학적 방법론이 부재한 철학의 유에 속한다는 사실을 보임으로써 베르그송의 직관 개념이 화이트헤드의 철학 내에 부재한다는 사실을 간접적으로 입증한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper begins with a critical view of that A. N. Whitehead identified the concept of physical purpose in his own philosophy with the concept of intuition of H. Bergson. The concept of intuition of Bergson has fluidity-Being itself as it`s object, so that founds metaphysic functionally on the fluid Being. However, Whitehead made a mistake to identify physical purpose which still has conceptual contents as objects with Bergson`s intuition. Therefore, this thesis tried to find out some concepts in the Whitehead`s philosophy which is similar with the concept of intuition of Bergson. This paper has traced causal efficacy based on a premise of that it could be similar with Bergson`s intuition, but this paper failed to find out any similarity between them. Thus, this paper has defined the boundary of two types of philosophy based on whether it has the concept of intuition or not, and Whitehead`s philosophy belonged to the type of philosophy lacked intuition. As a result, this paper could demonstrate indirectly, there is not any concept in the whitehead`s philosophy which is similar with Bergson`s intuition.
