국제질서 변환과 전략적 각축기의 미중관계: 중국의 전략적 입장과 정책을 중심으로 = General papers: Transformation of the International Order and the US-China Relationship: Focusing on the China`s Strategic Position and Policy

This paper aims to reveal the current China`s strategic position and policy between US-China relationship during the transformation of the international order. According to the research, we can find that China`s diplomatic strategy becomes more aggressive and assertive in the 21st century. Nevertheless China trying to reduce wariness of America and avoid direct conflict with USA. Xi Jinping government`s New Model of Major-Country Relations also reflect this kind of China`s intentions. Now it appears the U.S-China relationship is moving toward cooperation, but it is likely that conflict and confrontation will resurface as the gap of power between them narrows in the years to come. The Republic of Korea should seek their own survival strategies and balanced security strategies between U.S and China in the medium to long term.
