자립논증파(自立論證派)의 십이연기 순환 구조 연구 - 제쭌 최끼곌첸의 티벳어본 『연기(緣起)의 총의(總義)』를 중심으로 - = A Study on the Cycle Structure of the Twelve Nidanas of the Middle Way Autonomy School: Focusing on the General Meaning of Dependent Origination of rje btsun chos kyi rgyal mtshan's Tibetan Version

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study is part of an effort to explore the contents of the twelve nidanas from various aspects in order to pierce them all together. Its purpose is to expand the horizons of research on the twelve nidanas. It chooses the General Meaning of Dependent Origination(rten 'brel spyi don/) as the main text, whic is written by rje btsun chos kyi rgyal mtshan of Tibet in the 15th and 16th centuries as a view of the Middle Way Autonomy School on dependent origination. This book has not yet been introduced in Korea, but it will be very helpful to make a clear understanding of the two cycle structures of the twelve nidanas.
The body consists of three parts. The first, analyzes from ignorance to birth, aging and death the twelve branches presented in the Noble Mahayana Stura, the Rice Seeding('phags pa sā lu'i ljang pa zhes bya ba theg pa chen po'i mdo/), etc., that is into three aspects. Second, it divides the actual order of the twelve branches, which is one cycle of rebirth in which a living being creates karma and receives the next life into two cycles and three cycles of rebirth. Then, it provides and analyzes the evidence and examples for each. Third, it makes a general analysis of the differences in opinions of each treatise on the third of the twelve branches, that is consciousness, and the two types of twelve branches presented above.
I expect that this study can contribute to transforming the uniform perception of the cycle structure of the twelve nidanas into a three-dimensional one.
