Cytogenetic data for chorionic villus sampling(CVS) are presented, which was performed from December 1990 till December 1992. In 97.5% of cases, successful cytogenetic diagnosis was obtained from cultural method, and no case was failed to obtain cytogenetic data if sampling was done effectively. Six cases(5%) for abnormal karyotype were noted. In those cases mosaicism and honmosaicism were observed with equal frequency, but was confirmed as normal in following amniocentesis in all three cases of mosaic and non-mosaic tetraploidy. This indicates that if there showed abnormality in ploidy in cultured CVS, it should be subjected to follow up by amniocentesis. Ths rate of maternal cell contamination was 3.32%.
