The purpose of this research is to study college students who have OCD and understand how the obsessive vowed forces perceive stimuli that contain contextual emotions. Pauda(PI-WSUR) was conducted for participants, and a total of 45 participants were classified into OCD groups(n=17) and control groups(n=28).
In Study 1, we let the participants judge the size of target stimulation by photographically consisted stimulus, in study 2, the size of the target stimulus was judged by consisted of texts. We used the same method as study 1 to discover their value of size perception, and also compared the OCD group and control group with the post-control group to compare differences. As a result of the study, there was a significant difference between control group and OCD group from study 1 and 2, and when OCD group was compared with control group, we found it seemed that the OCD group was able to perceive more about the stimulus than the control group. Also, when we compared the differences in OCD group, the group was perceived more greatly on the stimulus inducing forced accident than the neutral stimulus. Through this, we could see that the OCD group responds more sensitively to visual stimuli (photographs, texts) which causes the compulsive thoughts than the control group. In addition, we were also able to find out that OCD group responds more impressionally on the stimuli that causes obsession than the neutral stimuli.
Lastly, we discussed the significance of the restrictions on this research and made suggestions for future research.
