      This paper deals with application of Double-Up method which is a new construction method for high-rise building construction in central core city. The constructing process of the Double-Up method is developed upward at the same time from basement and first floor, after excavating the soil by open-cut method. Generally, in the construction of high-rise building, the main problems are shorting of working durations and varieties of construction administration. Double-up method has advantageous to these two points at the central core city. In this paper, Double-Up method is not applied to the building which the arrow side dimension is over than40m. Advantage and disadvantage of double-up method is as drawn:
      Advantages of double-up method
      1. Double-Up method is efficient at the good soil condition, we obtain low construction cost and shortening of construction duration.
      2. If earth anchor is used at bearing wall, then sufficient working space is obtained and a good construction condition is possible.
      3. This method is more useful than any other method, when high-rise building structure is constructed at the narrow site in central core city, The top-down method requires application of the R.C.D(reverse circulation drill) method or the diaphragm wall method. However, in the case of good soil condition, the double-up method does not require any of these methods.
      Disadvantages of the Double-Up method
      1. Double-Up method is difficult to apply on the reinforced concrete structure.
      2. If the condition of soil is so bad, the earth pressure is increased. The struts are loaded a great deal of stress. Thus, the cross-section of struts is increased.
