4, 5 세 유아들의 쓰기 기능에 대한 인식 = Four and Five Year Old Children's Perception of the Functions of Writing

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 만 4, 5세 유치원 유아 40명을 대상으로 쓰기 기능에 대한 인식을 조사한 것이다. 유아들은 지역사회의 다양한 상황에서 성인이 쓰기를 하는 모습을 담은 비디오 테이프를 보면서 무엇을 쓰는지, 어디에 쓰는지, 왜 쓰는지 등을 면접하였다. 유아들이 일반적으로 쓰기의 목적과 가치를 어떻게 이해하고 있는지도 조사되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 쓰기 기능에 대한 유아의 지식이 쓰기 발달 과정의 한 측면이며, 유아들은 일상 생활 속에서 쓰기의 특성과 기능에 대한 중요한 지식을 구성한다는 것을 보여주었다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 유아교육기관에서의 쓰기 활동에 대한 시사점도 논의되었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study investigates young children's perception of the functions of writing. Forty kindergarten children aged four and five years olds responded to videotaped vignettes depicting people writing in community settings. The children answered questions regarding what people write, where they write, and why they write. And the children's concepts of general purpose of writing and their understandings of value of writing were analyzed. The results of this study show that children' knowledge of functions of writing is a part of the process of writing development, and that young children construct important knowledge about the nature and function of writing in their daily lives. The educational implications of writing activities are also discussed.
