생성형 AI를 활용한 언어교육 연구의 동향과 전망 - 토픽 모델링과 키워드 분석을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 인공지능을 활용한 언어교육의 최신 연구 동향을 분석하여, 생성형 인공지능이 언어교육에서 활용 가능성과 전망을 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 한국학술지인용색인(KCI)와 학술연 구정보서비스(RISS)에 게재된 학술지, 학위 논문을 상세 검색하여 연구 대상을 수집하여 통계적 분석과 LDA 기반 토픽 모델링(Topic Modeling) 기법으로 언어교육에서 생성형 인공지능을 활용한 연구 주제에 대해 분석하였다. 이를 분석 결과 92편의 연구는 ChatGPT 3.0이 개발된 2023년 이후 급격히 증가하였고, 주로 생성형 AI를 활용한 연구가 주를 이룬 것으로 나타났다. 언어권별로는 한국어를 주제로 한 연구가 가장 많았으며, 그다음으로 영어, 독일어 순이었다. 토픽 모델링 기법을 사용하여 92편 학술 문서를 키워드 분석한 결과 생성형 인공지능에 대한 학술 논문에서는 ‘교육’, ‘생성’, ‘활용’, ‘인공지능’, ‘학습’ 등이 가장 많이 나타났다. 이런 연구 결과를 바탕으로 실제 언어교육에서 생성형 AI의 활용 사례를 국내외로 살펴보고, 언어교육 현장에서 그 활용 가능성을 알아보았다. 그리고 언어교육에서 생성형 인공지능을 활용 시 문제점을 제시하고 이를 해결하기 위한 방안을 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze the latest research trends in language education using artificial intelligence, focusing on the potential and prospects of generative artificial intelligence in this field. To achieve this, academic journals and dissertations published on the Korea Citation Index (KCI) and the Academic Research Information Service (RISS) were thoroughly searched to collect subjects for research, which were then analyzed using statistical methods and LDA-based topic modeling techniques. The analysis showed a significant increase in research, with 92 studies emerging after the development of ChatGPT 3.0 in 2023, predominantly focusing on the use of generative AI. The majority of these studies were focused on the Korean language, followed by English and German. Keyword analysis of the 92 academic documents using topic modeling techniques revealed that terms such as ‘education’, ‘generation’, ‘utilization’, ‘artificial intelligence’, and ‘learning’ were most frequently used. Based on these findings, the study examines practical examples of generative AI use in language education both domestically and internationally, explores its potential in the educational field, identifies challenges when utilizing generative AI in language education, and proposes solutions to address these issues.
