As interest in fine holes increases, the importance of fine hole processing
technology is increasing. In order to process fine holes, discharging processing can be used as a representative, but it has the disadvantage of electrode consumption
and processing time taking a long time. In this work, we fabricate micro electrode
tool with wire discharge machining. Basic machining experiment was conducted to
obtain hole processing characteristics by utilizing fine axial electrodes as tools and
different dielectric fluid and capacitance. For each machining condition, the
characteristics of electrode wear, taper angle, and the diameter direction gap of the
machined hole were examined. Using deionized water as an insulation solution
reduced electrode wear and taper angle compared to kerosene and increased
diameter direction gap. Various numbers of pins were produced on a tool using
reverse-discharge machining. Based on the data obtained from the experiment, we proceed with the EDM processing using multiple-electrodes.
