대학생 진로신화 척도 개발 = The Development of the Career Myths Scale for College Students

Clients approach to career counseling with abstractive hypotheses about career decision-making or the world of work. Speculation and hypotheses that the clients are viewed are career myths, they are relatively new and unexplored phenomena. There is, however, a distinct paucity of quantitative scientific research in this field. This study has attempt to develop and standardized a scale designed to assess the career myths held by college students. In order to verify construct validation of the scale developed were examined the relations of the variables related with career development. For the study, the pilot questionnaires were constructed based on literature review and open ended survey about career myths, and then the experts evaluated the questionnaire. Finally the Career Myths Questionnaire for college students with 40 items, the inventory administered to 361 college students. The result of exploratory factor analysis reviewed 6 factors(38 items), explained these factors cumulative variate 45.56%. 6 factors are consists of interest and effort myth(10 items), success and choice myth(8 items), superiority myth(5 items), view of career myth(7 items), perfection myth(5 items), test myth(3 items). Factor of interest and effort myth is the most powerful effect on self-efficacy and career development, factor of perfection myth is one on locus of control(P), factor of view of career myth is one on trait anxiety, factor of success and choice is one on fear belief of negative evaluation. In addition, limitations of the current study and recommendations for further research were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

진로상담에서 내담자들은 진로의사결정이나 직업세계에 관한 추상적인 가설을 가지고 접근한다. 이러한 내담자가 보이는 추측과 가설이 바로 진로신화이며 이는 기대하지 않았던 새로운 현상과 관련이 있다. 그러나 아직 진로신화에 관련된 연구는 많지 않다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대학생들이 가지고 있는 진로와 관련된 신화를 측정할 수 있는 척도를 개발하고, 개발한 도구의 구성타당도를 검증하고자 진로발달과 관련된 변인들과의 관계를 알아보았다. 이를 위하여 연구자가 직접 작성한 진로신화에 관한 자유 응답식 설문을 토대로 기초 질문지를 구성한 후 전문가 평정을 거쳐 40문항의 질문지를 대학생 361명에게 실시하였다. 요인분석 결과 6가지 요인(38문항)이 추출되었으며, 6개 요인이 전체 변량의 45.56%를 설명하였다. 각 요인은 흥미와 노력신화(10문항), 성공 및 선택신화(8문항), 우월성신화(5문항), 직업관신화(7문항), 완벽성신화(5문항), 검사신화(3문항)로 명명되었다. 각 요인이 진로발달 변인에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과 진로발달과 자기효능감에는 ‘흥미 및 노력신화’가, 통제소재(P)에는 ‘완벽성신화’가, 특성불안에는 ‘직업관신화’가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의 및 제한점을 논의하였다.
