디자인 조형이념의 시대성과 표현성향에 관한 연구 = A study of the difference between modern and anti-modern design philosophy

Modern design philosophy, which is “form follows function”, has been criticized in connection with anti-modern culture from the beginning of post industrial society at early 1970s, even if it has influenced various field as architecture, design, and applied art until today. It is more obvious that anti-modern philosophy is deeply affecting all of the art and design field than before, being called as post-modernism, late-modernism, or deconstructionism. Especially, post-modern design culture has applied into a wide scope of the design related field through diverse way, showing the results of a different perspective and potentiality from modern culture in the way of it’s expression with formative thought and styles.
This study intends to examine how the anti-modern philosophy and culture have been practically applied into the current thought of design field of the times by analysing and exploring the historical change of formative art and design.
