正祖年間의 私刻曆書發賣事件 硏究 = A Study on the Case of Private Printing and Distributing of Calendar in the Reign of Jeongjo

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The case of private printing and distributing of calendar, what we called, was collected in Simrirok and it was composed of contents that Lee Ttong-i as a craftsman led the private publishing of calendar and fake seal. Inspite of several requests by loyal retainer, Jeongjo(正祖) spared his life, for the reason it occurred before setting up the another exclusive sale system and for the circumstantial evidence. Understanding about the calendar publication system of the period of 18 century in Choseon dynasty, the case of Lee Tong-i has some doubtful points. Kwansanggam monopolize the business of the calendar publication through the nationwide and pay the money like costs of pulication and personnel expenses. The people who were against the law should be punished with beheading based on the law about fake seal. A number of records of Uigwe(의궤) reveal the facts that Lee Ttong-i was a old and talented craftsman, also Jeon Chi-hak had a experienced engraver at Kyoseogwan(校書館). Taking consideration of the facts that petty official sold the calendar to the people, the printed calendar books were too dirty to read because they were imprinted too much. Eventually, it is obvious that customary events was changed to criminal case and old and sick craftsmen probably were falsely accused.
