과학영재들이 사용하는 과학적 비유의 인지 모형 = Cognitive Models of Scienctific Analogy

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문에서는 먼저 과학교육 분야에서 많이 연구된 비유 이론인 Gentner의 구조대응이론을 간략하게 기술하였다. 이어서 인지언어학 분야에서 Lakoff와 Johnson이 도입한 개념적 은유론을 정리하고 학생들의 오개념 형성과 교정에 시사하는 바를 논의했다. 개념적 은유 이론의 기초가 되는 Johnson의 영상도식, Fillmore의 의미적 틀, Langacker의 영역 모두 신체화에 기초를 두고 있기 때문에 오개념 교정을 위해서는 과학적 정개념 형성에 도움이 되는 경험에 반복적으로 노출되어야 하며, 개념이 포함되어 있는 개념범주 또는 의미 틀, 개념 영역, 체계를 이해하도록 전체적인 관점에서 포괄적으로 교정을 시도해야 한다는 점을 지적하였다. 이어 인지언어학 분야의 최신 이론인 Fauconnier와 Turner의 개념적 혼성이론을 정리하고 학생들의 오개념 형성과 교정에 시사하는 바를 논의했다. 학생들의 오개념을 교정하기 위해서는 어떤 입력공간이 동원되었는지와 혼성공간으로의 선택적 투사를 조사해야 하며, 올바른 개념공간이 수립된 후에도 자신이 형성한 혼성공간을 기록으로 남기고 반복적으로 반추함으로써 관습화하는 과정이 필요하다는 점을 지적하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

We first describe briefly Gentner's structure mapping theory, which is popular in the field of science education. And next we summarize Lakoff and Johnson's conceptual metaphor theory and discuss its implications to the formation and correction of students misconceptions. Johnson's image schemas, Fillmore's semantic frames, and Langacker's conceptual domains, which are basic ingredients of the conceptual metaphor theory, have common basis of embodiment. This implies that in order to correct students misconceptions they should be exposed repeatedly to experiences helpful in constructing correct concepts and the target of correction should not a concept itself but the conceptual categrory, the semantic frame, the conceptual domain, or the system in which the concept is included. We last summarize an up-to-date theory in the field of congnitive linguistics, Fauconnier and Turner's conceptual blending theory. This implies that, in order to correct students misconceptions, it should be analysed that which input mental spaces and selective projections are used to form the blended mental space and after some correct concepts are established some conventionalizing process is needed.
