The size and the shape of Simui are briefly described in 『Yeagi』 are follows: It consists of 12 pieces of material, its collar is right-angled, it overlaps deeply when it is worn, etc. There have been various studies on Simui which conform te the description in 『Yeagi』; however, the exact shape of it is yet unknown. Simui with a straight collar was once considered the right shape among scholars. However, the stright-collared Simui does not become right-angled when one side of it is laid on top of another when worn. As a result, many scholars have turned their eyes to Simui with a square collar, which is Bangnyong-Simui.<br/>
In this study, I argue against previous studies on Bengnyong--Sirrui in accordance with the description in 『Yaegi』: Bangyong-Sirrui does not consist of 12 pieces of material, it does not overlap deeply an so on. I also present a new theory of Sirrui.
