외국인 이주민에 대한 뉴스 보도가 혐오에 미치는 효과 연구: 위협 보도와 온정주의 보도를 중심으로 = News message’s effects on outgroup derogation toward immigrant foreigners: Comparison between threat message and benevolent message

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The current study examined the causal relationship between news message and outgroup derogation toward immigrant foreigners in Korea. Previous studies have showed that threat message and benevolent message were widely used in news reports when describing immigrant foreigners. Therefore, this study focused on what effects of these news messages have on the outgroup derogation toward immigrant foreigners. The results showed that both of the news message increased the outgroup derogation. Also, the mechanism of the effects was contempt emotion. Additional analysis revealed that the stereotypes toward immigrants foreigners was the reason of the contempt emotion. The implication of the results were discussed.
